This unit combines the very latest full colour moving map TSO'd (IFR approaches) GPS with a full COM radio, and integrated VOR receiver. On the above picture you can see the COM display at the top left, the VOR/LOC directly below it, and a full colour map to the right.

With the installation of this equipment Basair now offers GPS/NPA approach training for IFR pilots. We conduct the theory training (1 day course) the flight training plus the flight test to obtain your approach endorsement. Further details about the GPS courses can be found here.

Basair has ground simulator software for the GNS 430 system installed on our computer system in room 2, which you are welcome to utilise to familiarise yourself with the system. Please arrange with an instructor to book the room.
