Basair offers GPS courses to students at all levels of
experience and training.
This course covers general principles of GPS, GPS approvals
for aviation, and the use of the GNS430 (the colour moving-map
GPS fitted to our Twin Comanche VH-LEU) as an example of GPS
operating procedures and techniques.
The course is useful to anyone who wishes to use GPS.
For IFR pilots, this course approves you to use GPS as a Primary
Means navigation aid for en-route navigation, and also for use
in GPS or GPS/DME arrivals. It is also a prerequisite to commencing
GPS Non-Precision Approach (NPA) training.
For VFR pilots, this course equips you with an understanding
of GPS principles and limitations, as well as operating techniques,
