Indian Option

Basair Aviation College has had many Indian students achieve the Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) and DGCA requirements, and go on to have excellent careers with an airline.  You can read about some of our recent alumni on our alumni page.

We have a course designed specifically to comply with India's DGCA requirements at the lowest cost.

Students will graduate from this course with 100 hours command, 15 hours of multi-engine and instrument flying time, which are the requirements of th DGCA.  Students will also benefit from our excellent theory materials and they will be very well prepared for the conversion exams when they return to India.  Our graduates are very successful with the conversion exams.

The Indian Package has four parts;

  • Certificate IV in Aviation (Commercial Pilot License)
  • Additional 25 hours of command flying to take the total to 100 hours command
  • Diploma of Aviation (Single Engine Option) with Command Instrument Rating time of 10 hours
  • Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating time of 15 hours.

The course runs for 52 weeks. Students are required to have completed their CPL prior to starting the Command Instrument Rating part of the program.

The course is structured in the same way as the CPL course for the first 42 weeks.  See the CPL course structure on the CPL page.  After the CPL course, students will do IREX theory for 2 weeks and then spend 8 weeks doing single and multi-engine command instrument rating time. Students will not do an IFR test as part of the course as the Indian DGCA does not require the flight test.  The DGCA only requires 100 hours pilot in command, 40 hours instrument time and 50 hours solo cross country time - all of which you will obtain on this course.
